When you are trying to do life balance and your career, you don’t have any option except running like a marathon. One must keep going to reach its destination. You may face a lot of deadlines for projects and meetings at home. While you also have children to get their homework done for dealing with and much more.
You can do the laundry, dinner preparations, and grocery shopping alone. It is a natural response to start putting extra hours to complete orders when you know that you are overbooked. The burden of finishing excessive laundry may make you stay awake till late at night, or you may have some sleepless nights. There are many people out there finding it difficult to balance their personal and work routines.
The purpose of all this is to get promotions or make extra money. They are trying to maintain the balance. You should take a healthy look at your life instead of running in an everlasting marathon. Did your 40 hours work week converted into a 60 hours work week? Question yourself that why did it happen? Why did you have to put extra hours into work?
Time management skill
Time management skill is the first thing you must think about. Are you wasting some extra time checking your emails, or do you spend too much time scrolling social media? It is interesting how much time is wasted by doing low-grade routine tasks. Your priority should be getting done the day work first, instead of spending your time checking emails.
Think about the task that must be completed and get it done as soon as possible. Don’t get distracted by any task until the target project is completed. At least you now know you won’t have to work late because of the fear of missing a deadline. Each morning create a list of what has to be done and when. Always move the less important items to after lunch. All the mentioned methods can also be applied to your home life.
When you get home, concentrate on getting the main things done first. This might be cooking dinner or taking your child to an appointment. Leave the things that can wait until later on; try leaving them until the weekend. If you can do this, then you know that job wasn’t as important as you thought. You have to make some changes in looking at things actually to cross that finish line!
